I grew up in a Christian home where my parents taught me about Jesus.  Throughout the day, my mother would point out all of the wonderful things that God had made and teach me about Him.  Each night, before I went to bed, my parents would read me a Bible story, sing songs and pray.  Each Sunday and Wednesday my family would attend a little country church in Pennsylvania.  There I continued to learn about the Lord.

                I learned that growing up in a Christian family and going to church, did not save a person.  A person is only saved when he or she asks Jesus to forgive them of their sins and to come into his or her heart and be their personal Savior. 

                One day, when I was five years old, I began thinking about whether I would go to heaven when I died.  I realized that I had never asked Jesus to forgive my sins, or to come into my heart so I was not saved.  Right then, I prayed and asked Jesus to forgive my sins and to come into my heart, and He did! 

                Coming to Liberty Baptist caused me to have some doubts about my salvation.  Being very young, I wondered if I really knew what I had done.  I remembered that day as a little boy, yet my heart seemed unsettled.  On September 28, 2003, I decided that I needed to make sure of my salvation.  I asked Pastor Smith to lead me in the plan of salvation and that night I was Scripturally baptized.  Since that time, all my doubts have disappeared and God has given me His peace.

                Over the years, I have seen God’s leading in my life.  He has directed me to major in music in college, brought me to San Jose, and has helped me through many rough times.  I do not know what I would do if I did not have assurance of my salvation.  I praise the Lord for saving me and helping me to have assurance of a home in heaven.
