| | | | I grew up in a Christian home. My mother got saved the year I was born, but my father did not become a Christian until I was at the age of 16. I went to a Baptist church, was involved in the ministries, and went to all church services faithfully. I also attended a Christian school. All those years, I thought I was going to heaven considering all the good things I’ve done and having the “head knowledge.” I remember I used to pray the “sinner’s prayer” every time I would get scared of going to hell. I started doubting my salvation at the age of 17 when a number of young people at my church were getting saved. I thought it was weird to see these kids get saved knowing that they grew up in church like me. That night, May 1, 2003, I did not have any peace before I went to bed, not knowing for sure if heaven will be my home. I called my high school teacher that night and she helped me settle my salvation. After we prayed, I became sure of my salvation. Praise the Lord! |
