Bibles!
by Liberty Baptist School on

This scene really got my attention, so I grabbed my camera quickly.  The 6th graders were heading from Chapel to Computer class, so they dropped their Bibles off on the way in. Where else would you see something like this but in a Christian School?

May Has Been BUSY!
by Liberty Baptist School on

The last month of school has been a BUSY one at Liberty Baptist School. The sixth graders treated their mothers to a Brunch on April 30, and then they spent the first week of May at Outdoor Education at Mission Springs. The Physics class attended the Math/Physics Day at Great America. The 4th graders had a great time on their visit to Roaring Camp - thankfully the rain held off! The Seniors and their mothers were honored on May 11. The K4 & K5 classes visited the newly renovated Happy Hollow Park and petting zoo. The music classes have been a blessing to two nursing homes in the area, and they are preparing for their upcoming concerts. Congratulations are in order to the Varsity Girls' Softball team - First Place in their League Division!

The Science Fair is just around the corner, and graduation will be here before you know it! Make sure you have all the events scheduled on your calendar!

Learning, Learning, Learning
by Liberty Baptist School on

It's fun to walk around campus and watch the students learning. A couple of weeks ago I saw the 6th graders hauling logs (a lesson on simple machines). I couldn't get a good picture, but it was fun to see them trying to carry that heavy log up some steps and then seeing how much easier it was to roll it up the ramp or use the pulley.  The k4 class was learning about insects this week with a PowerPoint presentation, and rumor has it that a pilot is coming to visit next week. A few minutes ago I was sitting in my office listening to the Beginner Band practice, when I heard Larry Taylor, our missionary to Belgium, talking to them. The Beginner Band was getting an impromptu geography lesson! Since you can't be here to see all this yourself, I hope you can at least enjoy a couple of pictures...

2nd Graders Learn Desktop Publishing
by Liberty Baptist School on

The second graders were in the Computer Lab today. We are starting Unit 4 of our "Choices" curriculum. Students will be making a newsletter about communication choices. They were hard at work formatting text boxes and using the Internet to find information.

Lower Elementary Field Trip - Oakland Zoo
by Liberty Baptist School on

From the looks of it, the 1st - 3rd graders had a wonderful day at the Oakland Zoo! It was really fun for me (Mrs. Damigo) because one of the parents was posting photos and updates throughout the day that I could follow on Facebook! It was the next-best-thing to being there!

Chuck E. Cheese Family Night
by Liberty Baptist School on

What a great fundraiser! Your family only had to show up to eat pizza and play video games, and we raised money for our school doing it! We'll announce the final total as soon as we receive it, but the fun we had with family and friends was easily worth more than the check amount will be. Thanks for participating -- the money raised will go towards our missions offering!

THANK YOU!!
by Liberty Baptist School on

WOW!!! Our staff was overwhelmed this morning with a surprise cash gift from an anonymous donor. When it was announced that we had received a significant increase to our health insurance premiums, someone made a donation to our staff to help offset those costs. Please know that we have no words to adequately express our gratitude. May God bless you, too!

Grandparents Day
by Liberty Baptist School on

Friday, February 12, was Grandparents Day at Liberty Baptist School. We had more than one hundred visitors here on campus as grandparents visited elementary classrooms, attended an all-school assembly, and enjoyed a lunch with Junior High and High School students.  We are reminded that "With the ancient is wisdom; and in length of days understanding. With him is wisdom and strength, he hath counsel and understanding." (Job 12:12,13)
