Welcome to Miss Dueck's First Grade Class!
As we begin a new school year, I am pleased to take this opportunity to introduce myself and to welcome your child to my class. A good learning experience is built in a cooperative effort among parent, child, and teacher. I look forward to the work and growth we will all accomplish this year.
Let me share with you how I came to know Christ as my Savior. I was raised in a Christian home, attended a Christian school for most of my education, and went to church regularly. Through Sunday School and bible lessons, I learned much about God and His Word. When I was in early elementary school, I remember being afraid of going to hell; so I made a profession of faith. However, I did not fully understand salvation at the time and began to doubt my salvation when I was 14 or 15. For a few days I tried to ignore the Holy Spirit’s conviction in my heart. One day I could resist Him no longer, so I knelt in my bedroom and asked Jesus Christ to save me. Since then the Lord has given me full assurance of my salvation, and I desire to serve Him faithfully with my life.

My expectations for conduct and academic standards are high. These standards are based on 1 Corinthians 10:31: “Whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.” With your participation both in and out of the classroom, we can look forward to a productive, creative, and enjoyable year together. I will be praying for you and your child on a daily basis. Please pray that the Lord will give me wisdom and guidance as well.
Throughout the year, we have planned various field trips, parties, and other activities. Occasionally, I will be sending notes home asking for your assistance in gathering materials, chaperoning, etc. Please know that you are always welcome to come and enjoy these special times with your child.

Thank you for allowing me to teach your child and to be a part of their life. It is such a blessing to be a part of Liberty Baptist School and its staff. I look forward to experiencing all that the Lord has planned for us this school year!
